    Of course pagerank does not matter, what matters is how you rank for important keywords, but rarely can you do that without a good pagerank ;-)

    For long i believed the same, and this was confirmed by google when they removed the pagerank data from the webmaster tools, pagerank only allows in getting a better pagerank for your linked pages, but what does it serve to you, may be sell links (another one disliked by google)
