Google has launced a beta version browser called “Chrome” – downloadable from Google.com.
It is certainly fast and uses tabs like FireFox. It is very easy to use their Bookmark function.
What is behind the launch of this browser?
One suspects that Google are wanting to gather more information about viewing habits. At best (!) the data will be used to improve the Search Engine Rankings. Are there other reasons? Or am I being cynical? Perhaps we will see adverts in the browser (as well as on pages!).

On the “Control the current page” button, one of the options is reporting websites that are broken or have a bug. How long before a report “Paid Link” option appears?
Page Rank
Seems a surprising omission: no Google Page Rank indicator. Perhaps this will be added at a later stage – this is a Beta after all. Just methinks Google Page Rank is going to be phased out?
Conclusion: Good fast browser but why are Google trying to compete in the browser market? But we advise you to try the Beta yourself!
